Owning a hound is the heart of Hounds of Fury. Your hound’s stats, care, feeding, happiness, health, fatigue, and training all influence how well they perform in races. Understanding how to look after your hound will help you get the best results on the track.
Tap the dog head icon in the bottom left of the main racing screen to open your kennels. From here you can see all the hounds you currently own. Tap on a hound to view its profile.
Tap “Buy Dog” on an empty kennel slot to open the Hound Market.
Each hound is unique and has different traits that affect performance on various track types. Some hounds may have better Strength, Endurance, Focus, Reflexes, Recovery, or Trainability than others.
Select a hound from the market to purchase. If you have an available kennel, your newly purchased hound will appear in your kennel immediately.
Hounds live for approximately 10 days before being retired. Hounds that are not well looked after may retire earlier than 10 days.

Tap on a hound in your kennel to display its profile. Here you can see:
Age of your hound
Current weight
Number of races, including wins, places, and shows
Total prize money earned
Performance over the last 5 races
Current stats for Health (heart), Happiness (smiling face), and Energy (lightning bolt)

If you own the Performance Analyzer, you will also see hidden stats such as Strength, Endurance, Focus, Reflexes, Recovery, and Trainability.
Weight affects how your hound performs on different track conditions:
Heavier than 30 kg: performs better on wet tracks
Lighter than 30 kg: performs better on dry tracks
Weight can be modified by feeding your hound different food from the Shop.
Age determines when your hound can race and breed, and when it will retire.
Puppies cannot race until they are 1 day old
Market hounds start at 1 day old and can race immediately
Females can breed from 2 days old
All hounds retire at 10 days old
Poorly cared for hounds may retire earlier
Health affects race performance and how quickly your hound loses energy.
Unhealthy hounds will lose energy quicker and will therefore be able to run fewer races before becoming exhausted. Keep your hound healthy by feeding it regularly.
Food boosts health
Treats boost health only moderately and provide more happiness
If your hound is unhealthy, it may be best to focus on feeding it food instead of treats.
Happiness affects how well your hound performs on the track.
Treats and toys can be used to boost happiness. Different treats and toys will boost happiness to different degrees. Happy hounds will perform much better on the track.
Hounds gain fatigue as they race.
A fatigued hound performs poorly
A very tired hound cannot race
Some hounds recover faster due to their Recovery stat
Fatigue naturally recovers over time, especially if your hound is healthy and well cared for.
You can expand your kennel by:
Buying hounds from the Market
Breeding your own puppies
Earning special hounds through gameplay events
Each new hound requires an available kennel slot.
Your kennel stores all your hounds. From here you can:
View stats
Feed and care for hounds
Equip items
Enter races
Breed or stud
Rename or recolour your hound
Your first kennel is free, but you must purchase additional kennels with game cash.
If you no longer wish to keep a hound, tap it in the kennel and select the exit door icon to set it free. There is a confirmation step before your hound is released, but once your hound is set free, it is gone for good.

Once you have purchased a hound for your kennels, you may attempt to train it every 8 hours in either Strength or Endurance. Training may or may not be successful depending on your hound’s training stats.
When your hound is ready to be trained, a barbell icon will appear on its kennel.

Strength training will improve your hound’s performance over shorter track distances (under 350 metres)
Endurance training will improve your hound’s performance over longer distances (over 350 metres)
Hounds may be naturally better at either strength or endurance racing. Using the Performance Analyzer will reveal Strength and Endurance stats for your hound.

After selecting either Strength or Endurance to train, the training mini‑game will display.
To successfully train your hound:
Repeatedly tap when the dot is in the green zone of the circle to increase the meter on the right until it is full
Failing to tap when the dot is in the green zone will decrease the success meter on the right
If you fail to train your hound, you can try again after a short cooldown
Hounds with better Trainability have a larger green zone, which makes them easier to train.
Owning and caring for your hound allows you to:
Improve race performance
Unlock breeding options
Progress through grades
Earn prize money
Develop long‑term racing strategies
A well‑cared‑for hound performs better, lives longer, and wins more races.
