Racing is the core of Hounds of Fury. Whether you’re entering instant races, competing against other players, or joining scheduled events, racing is how your hounds earn prize money, progress through grades, and prove themselves on the track.
Track types
Tracks can be wet or dry and may be shorter or longer in distance.
Different hounds perform better under different conditions. Experiment with track types to learn where each hound performs best.
Box position
Each hound has a Focus stat that affects how well they perform in certain box positions.
Hounds with higher Focus perform better in the middle boxes
Hounds with lower Focus may prefer outer boxes
Try racing your hound in different positions to see which box suits them best.
Groupings (Grades)
Hounds progress through grades by winning races. Higher grades offer higher prize money.
Maidens – Hounds with no wins
Requires 1 win to progress to Grade 5
Grade 5 – Requires 2 consecutive wins to progress to Grade 4
Grade 4 – Requires 2 consecutive wins to progress to Grade 3
Grade 3 – Requires 3 consecutive wins to progress to Grade 2
Grade 2 – Requires 4 consecutive wins to progress to Grade 1
Demotion rules
If your hound does not place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in:
5 consecutive races, it drops one grade
Grade 1 hounds drop after 4 unplaced races
Grades determine which races your hound can enter and how much prize money they can earn.
